The Backpackers Hut sits on Jalan Tokong — Temple Street — the old Harmony Street of Melaka, where Malaysia's oldest Chinese temple, a 1748 mosque and a Hindu temple share one row.
Step out of the door and you are already in the middle of it: Jonker Walk Night Market around the corner, the Melaka River a short stroll, Dutch Square and A Famosa within a ten-minute walk.
Rooms are simple, spotless and air-conditioned, with Wi-Fi throughout and 24-hour access — everything a traveller needs, nothing they don't.
